Here's why!.... the poor and the lowly people know that they are in Urgent need for redemption, dependance on God, interdependance on one another, have no exaggerated sense of importance; they distinguish so easily between necessities and luxury, their acquired patience helps them avoid exaggerated fears; the Gospel when preached to them truly sounds like Good News as they respond with no pre-conceptions but welcome God's free gift of Love who is Jesus into their hearts imbibing a divine Hope for their future...
He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. (2 Corinthians 9)
If a brother or sister is poorly clad and lacks food for each day, and one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do? (James 2:15,16)
But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: and thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. (Luke 14:13,14)
How you can help today? Your contribution of $30 helps provide 1 bag of rice (170 lbs) to communities of lepers and the blind who live in huts in rural suburbs of cities. Each bag helps feed a community of 20-30 adults and children for 4-5 days. The local churches distribute the food as well as minister the gospel along with a word of hope from the bible to the hungry and the outcasts.
Your contributions towards our 'Meal for a soul' program go directly (100%) to help reach the poor and the needy with food for the body as well as food for their soul as the good news is preached to them. At Shepherds In Christ, we thoroughly screen, assess and partner with organizations whose primary purpose acheives a truly non profit cause. We ensure your giving helps reach and make a positive change in people's lives in the most efficient manner.
